Photography Minor

Art and Design

Overview

Photography is a creative addition to any major but will especially benefit majors in English, Journalism, Education, Psychology, Sociology, History, and the sciences. You will explore photographic techniques that strengthen your observational skills and learn to ability to create effective visual documentations.

Required:

ART 1610 Photography I / ART 1085 Introduction to Photography
ART 1620 Photography II / ART 1086 Intermediate Photography
ART 1630 Digital Photography             
ART 1660 History of Photography 

Electives (two chosen):

Students are to select from undergraduate art offerings with the consultation of an advisor.

Only academic programs approved by NYSED are eligible for federal and state aid: NYS Inventory of Registered Programs http://www.nysed.gov/heds/IRPSL1.html.  Minors are not recognized by NYSED therefore associated courses are only eligible for federal or state aid consideration when required by a major or when also used to satisfy a core or general elective requirement.
