  • Cultivate an inclusive and accessible learning environment fostering interdisciplinary learning to create high-impact and transformational student opportunities.
    • This goal focuses on the success of both students and faculty. Strategies will be explored that relate to mentoring of full- and part-time faculty, re-envisioning academic support services, incorporating cutting-edge, inclusive pedagogical approaches, and equity-minded assessment to emphasize inclusivity, retention, and attention to the needs of all St. John’s educators and learners.
  • Promote an inclusive institutional climate that supports faculty collaboration, research, scholarship, creativity and innovation.
    • This goal emphasizes formalized structures that support faculty and student research and interdisciplinary collaborations as well as recognition of faculty research efforts.
  • Expand St. John’s presence in untapped (by St. John’s) higher education markets (e.g. post-traditional students).
    • This goal expands the academic offerings at St. John’s through a formal executive education structure developed to expand our presence in untapped education markets by addressing the needs of post-traditional students, lifelong learners, and other emerging and evolving opportunities.
  • Integrate institutional resources to create a university center working as a hub to support technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship.
    • Build an infrastructure to operationalize a university hub for innovation to support entrepreneurial and innovation activities and programs, with a focus on mission-related initiatives that increase the visibility of our University and will provide students and faculty with resources and expertise to support new ventures.
  • Develop paths to degree attainment that allow for greater flexibility in learning modality by offering a reasonable balance of in-person and digital experiences.
    • Create more flexibility regarding when, where and how learning experiences are offered. We recommend exploring best practices for flexible course modalities including opportunities for integrating digital learning options, while maintaining a high level of academic excellence.
